Location: Houghton Le Spring (commutable from Sunderland, Newcastle, Washington, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Newton Aycliffe, Billingham, Peterlee, Consett, South Shields)
We are a long‑standing, globally recognised manufacturer seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead environmental, health and safety standards across a specialist manufacturing site. This fully autonomous role offers excellent training, strong career development and a supportive working environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve site EHS systems, processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation and UK regulations.
- Oversee all site‑wide EHS processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Support the development of safe, effective and environmentally responsible working practices.
- Lead and mentor the on‑site HSE team.
Qualifications
- HSE Manager or EHS Manager experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or closely related degree/background.
- Proficiency with UK legislation and industry best practice.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Committed to continuous professional development (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH qualifications).
- Commutable to Houghton Le Spring.
