Mechanical Project Manager – Major Decarbonisation Programme

Location: Gatwick Airport
Salary: Competitive
Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong building services background to join a major decarbonisation programme at Gatwick Airport.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile, long-term programme focused on reducing carbon emissions and upgrading existing energy and mechanical infrastructure across the airport estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical projects from design through to completion.
  • Deliver projects involving HVAC, heating, plant replacement, heat pumps and low-carbon technologies.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, programmes, budgets and project resources.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget and to the required quality.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager.
  • Strong building services/mechanical engineering background.
  • Experience managing projects from conception through to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating and mechanical systems.
  • Confident managing contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Good commercial, programme and project management skills.

Desirable

Experience within airports, major infrastructure, decarbonisation, renewables, energy efficiency, heat pumps or other low-carbon technologies would be highly advantageous.

Airport experience is desirable but not essential β€” strong mechanical building services project management experience is the priority.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a major net-zero/decarbonisation programme while gaining valuable experience across large-scale energy and infrastructure projects
