We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across our Clients estate, ensuring buildings, facilities and services are safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for managing in‑house maintenance teams, overseeing planned and reactive maintenance, delivering minor works projects and supporting wider estates operations across multiple sites. Some adhoc flexibility across weekends may be needed at times, however most weeks Monday to Friday working is anticipated.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical and operational experience, excellent organisational skills and a practical approach to problem solving and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day‑to‑day maintenance operations across the estate
- Manage and deploy in‑house trades staff effectively
- Oversee reactive maintenance and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance programmes
- Ensure high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service
- Deliver minor works and improvement projects from planning through to completion
- Support small to medium‑scale refurbishment and maintenance projects
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
- Line manage and support the maintenance team
- Allocate workloads and support skills development across the team
- Manage contractors and monitor quality, performance and value for money
- Maximise effective use of in‑house resource where possible
- Support estates compliance and health & safety requirements across the estate
- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in line with statutory regulations and safe working practices
- Work closely with colleagues to address compliance actions and remedial works
- Participate in out‑of‑hours support and emergency call‑out arrangements where required
- Strong experience in building maintenance and estates operations
- Experience supervising or managing maintenance teams
- Relevant qualification in construction, building services, engineering or similar discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely, or willingness to obtain
- Strong practical problem‑solving and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
