Hours: Flex - Monday to Thursday (8hrs start time between 7.00am and 8.30am) and Fridays (6hrs start time between 7.00am and 8.30am) (38hr week)
Holidays: 33 days, Pension: 6% by employer.
Overview
We now require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team.
Working in purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture bespoke metal fabrications with processes such as sheet metal, welding, fabrication and machining.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities on major contracts, overseeing assigned Design Engineers.
- Accountable to the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for the mechanical design and integrity of the company's products.
- Demonstrate leadership within the mechanical discipline and uphold the highest professional engineering standards.
- Identify and implement design and process improvements across the department and wider business.
- Collaborate with internal departments to achieve business and departmental objectives.
- Act as the primary technical contact for external design resources and queries.
- Mentor, supervise, and support the ongoing development of junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with sheet metal fabricated components.
- Educated to degree level in design, engineering or similar - mechanical engineering.
- Commute from: Heanor, Ripley, Derby, Nottingham, Alfreton and surrounding areas.
- Desirable: [additional skills are desirable but not essential].
