Operating across the UK, the company delivers a diverse range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
  • Undertake quantity take-offs and detailed pricing exercises.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
  • Liaise with operational, commercial, and procurement teams during the tender process.
  • Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation within agreed deadlines.
  • Assist in post-tender negotiations and project handovers.
  • Maintain and develop estimating databases and cost information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering, infrastructure, groundworks, or utilities sectors.
  • Strong understanding of tendering and estimating processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical information.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software packages.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
  • Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience pricing highways, drainage, utilities, earthworks, reinforced concrete, or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract.
