The Role
- Lead and manage the full pre-construction lifecycle from initial enquiry through to contract award
- Oversee bid strategy, programme development, and cost planning in collaboration with estimating teams
- Engage with clients to understand key drivers, ensuring tailored and competitive submissions
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design, commercial, and operational stakeholders
- Drive innovation, value engineering, and risk management throughout the bid process
- Mentor and develop junior members of the pre-construction team
- Ensure governance, compliance, and quality standards are consistently met
About You
- Proven experience in a senior pre‑construction or bid leadership role within a main contractor
- Strong track record of winning and delivering large-scale projects (£50m - £100m+)
- Excellent commercial awareness and technical understanding of construction methodologies
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to lead, influence, and inspire teams in a fast-paced environment
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
