We are currently working with two highly respected and growing commercial flooring contractors who are looking to appoint experienced Project Managers / Contracts Managers to support continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured works throughout 2026 and beyond. One opportunity is based near Crawley and would ideally suit candidates within a 20-mile radius, while the second role is with an established contractor based near Hertfordshire covering projects across London and the Home Counties.

Both businesses have built outstanding reputations within the flooring sector, delivering high-quality flooring packages across commercial, residential, fit out, education, healthcare, hospitality and mixed-use developments. With repeat business from major contractors and developers, they are now looking to strengthen their operational teams with ambitious individuals who can manage projects from pre-start through to final handover.

The Role

As Project / Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple flooring projects across London and the South East, ensuring programmes, quality standards and client expectations are consistently met. Projects range from fast-track commercial fit outs through to large-scale new build developments with flooring packages valued from £100k to £2m+.

Ideal Candidate

  • An experienced Flooring Project Manager or Contracts Manager seeking a fresh challenge with a stable and growing contractor.
  • A Site Manager, Supervisor or Senior Flooring Professional looking to step into a more senior operational role.
  • Someone with strong knowledge of commercial flooring installations who enjoys managing both site operations and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing flooring projects from award through to completion.
  • Coordinating site teams, installers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Attending client, progress and logistics meetings.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Monitoring programme deadlines and resolving site issues proactively.
  • Managing labour allocations, materials and site logistics.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and quality checks.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, main contractors and internal teams.
  • Overseeing H&S compliance, RAMS, toolbox talks and site standards.
  • Ensuring snagging and final handovers are completed efficiently.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within commercial flooring is essential.
  • Strong understanding of flooring installations and site sequencing.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and fast-paced programmes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and site teams alike.
  • SMSTS / SSSTS.
  • CSCS Card and First Aid beneficial.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
