Salary: Circa £45,000 + Results-Based Commission (OTE £50,000+)

Location: Near Woking, Surrey (commutable from Guildford, Farnborough, Camberley, Aldershot, Bracknell, Reading, Basingstoke and surrounding areas)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 16:00 (flexibility around start/finish times)

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong engineering or manufacturing background who enjoys the commercial side of machining operations, quotations and customer interaction. The Role

As the Estimator – Subcontract Machining, you’ll work closely with Purchasing, Production Control and Sales teams to manage customer enquiries, generate quotations and support the successful delivery of subcontract machining projects. Responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing customer RFQs, CAD models, drawings and technical specifications
  • Preparing detailed quotations for subcontract machining and metal finishing work
  • Working alongside machine shop and purchasing teams to establish costs and lead times
  • Supporting decisions on whether to bid for specific opportunities
  • Assisting with new order entry onto ERP systems and ensuring BOM accuracy
  • Communicating with customers regarding quotations, delivery dates and project updates
  • Supporting ongoing commercial growth within the machining division

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven engineering or manufacturing background
  • Experience within estimating, machining, manufacturing or engineering sales/BD
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/CAD data
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general business software
  • Organised, commercially aware and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Ideally located within approximately one hour commute of the site
