We are seeking an experienced E&I Designer, working within a small team of multi‑disciplined engineers. You will be responsible for developing electrical and instrumentation design drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with engineers and project teams to deliver high‑quality solutions. This is a full‑time position, based in our Grimsby offices with occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating detailed E&I designs, schematics, and layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD, EPLAN, etc.).
  • Develop wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and panel layouts for industrial projects.
  • Assist in the selection of cables, instrumentation, control systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g. BS, IEC ATEX).
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure design accuracy.
  • Perform site surveys and incorporate field data into designs.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and commissioning.

Personal Qualities and Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of E&I design within the Oil & Gas or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD Trimble or similar design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of standards including IEC, BS, and ATEX.
  • Comp Ex 12 qualification advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
  • UK driving licence.
