The Role – Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer

As a Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer, you will play a leading role in the design, development, and improvement of engineered products and equipment. You will be involved in:

• Designing mechanical and electromechanical systems, products, and equipment.
• Creating detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings (SolidWorks advantageous).
• Working on new product development, bespoke customer projects, and product improvements.
• Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to ensure practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Supporting the integration of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system elements.
• Collaborating closely with manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Solving technical challenges and driving continuous engineering improvement.
• Supporting testing, validation, calculations, and engineering analysis activities.

Your Background

This role could suit a Senior Design Engineer, Electromechanical Design Engineer, or Senior Development Engineer seeking a varied technical position within an agile engineering business. You are likely to bring:

• Strong experience in electromechanical design engineering.
• Experience designing equipment, machinery, engineered products, special purpose machines, capital equipment, or materials handling systems would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of 3D CAD software (SolidWorks beneficial).
• Understanding of DFM, practical engineering design, and product development processes.
• Exposure to areas such as fabrications, mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, controls, or systems integration would be beneficial.
• A proactive, solutions-focused engineering mindset.
• You are likely to be HNC / HND / Degree qualified, or apprentice trained.
