Civil / Structural Senior Designer Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Civil / Structural Senior Designer to join the team in Grangemouth.
This role will involve supporting civil and structural engineering and design activities, developing detailed design deliverables, and working collaboratively with Principal/Lead Engineers, project teams and clients to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
- Key Deliverables
- To develop and prepare detailed civil and structural design documentation, including layouts, modelling, general arrangement (GA) and detail drawings.
- To support Principal / Lead Engineers in reviewing and checking design deliverables.
- To participate in site visits and surveys to gather information required for design development.
- To engage with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently and safely.
- To generate accurate design deliverables in line with project requirements and agreed schedules.
- To uphold the highest standards of quality and safety in accordance with relevant industry regulations, standards and client requirements.
- To contribute to identifying and delivering work process improvements within the design team.
- To maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in civil and structural engineering.
- To collaborate effectively with project teams to achieve project objectives.
- To manage multiple tasks and work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Key Requirements / Qualifications
- HND in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, and/or a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
- Relevant experience using civil and structural design software.
- Familiarity with E3D and Auto CAD, or similar design software.
- Good knowledge of civil and structural design principles.
- Understanding of materials and construction processes used in civil and structural engineering.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A self-starter who can also thrive in a team environment.
- A commitment to ethical and professional standards.
