Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across Scotland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their Preconstruction team. Reporting to the Preconstruction Director, you will lead all engineering and design activities across both preconstruction and construction phases, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage internal design, engineering and CAD teams
  • Coordinate permanent and temporary works design
  • Ensure compliance with CDM, H&S and environmental regulations
  • Oversee design management through Viewpoint For Projects
  • Provide technical support and value engineering solutions
  • Review method statements, defects and compensation events
  • Support ISO 19650 and BIM processes
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders
  • Monitor workload, design quality and project progress

Requirements

  • Chartered Civil Engineer
  • Minimum 10 years' civil engineering experience
  • Strong contractor-side experience within infrastructure/civils
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams
  • Knowledge of temporary works and permanent works design
  • Strong technical, leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with third-party approvals and construction processes
