We’re looking for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a leading engineering team in Gateshead. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a large-scale, fast-paced critical environment, supporting the maintenance and operation of HVAC and mechanical building services systems across a busy operational site.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Fault finding, servicing, and repairing air conditioning and ventilation equipment
  • Maintaining AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and associated plant equipment
  • Supporting plant room inspections and routine maintenance activities
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety and compliance standards
  • Completing maintenance reports and documentation accurately
  • Working closely with the wider engineering and site teams to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

  • F-Gas Category 1 qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience within a commercial maintenance or Facilities Management environment
  • Strong HVAC fault-finding and maintenance experience
  • Good understanding of mechanical building services systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Experience working within critical or fast-paced environments
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of compliance and plant room operations
