We're recruiting for a Gas Engineer to join a long-term facilities management contract covering a diverse estate of educational facilities across Edinburgh. This is a field-based opportunity where you'll play an important role in keeping schools safe, warm and fully operational, while benefiting from ongoing training and career development.

As a Gas Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining safe, efficient and compliant heating and gas systems across the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
- Diagnose faults and repair commercial gas and heating systems
- Service and inspect commercial gas appliances
- Complete combustion analysis and flue gas integrity testing
- Maintain boilers, pumps, ventilation systems and associated plant
- Identify and replace life-expired assets
- Undertake minor plumbing and mechanical works where required
- Support installations, upgrades, commissioning and project works
- Complete inspections, risk assessments and statutory compliance checks
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with relevant regulations
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the contract
What we're looking for
- We're looking for a qualified Gas Engineer with strong experience working on commercial and industrial heating systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Current Gas Safe Registration
- Relevant commercial gas qualifications
- Proven experience servicing and repairing commercial and industrial boilers and gas appliances
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good problem-solving ability
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing is desirable
- Legionella awareness and compliance knowledge is desirable
- Previous plumbing experience is advantageous
- Experience within education, healthcare or other large estates would be beneficial
