Salary & Working Hours

  • PAYE £45,000–£52,000 (Self Employment available)
  • Travel allowance: £160 per month
  • Working hours: Monday–Thursday 07:30–17:00, Friday 07:30–16:00
  • Holiday entitlement: 24 days + bank holidays
  • Private healthcare after 3‑month probation

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out fire alarm PPMs across residential buildings
  • Completing all remedial works identified through PPMs and inspections
  • Testing, commissioning, and fault‑finding on fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Undertaking routine fire alarm testing and certification
  • Servicing and maintaining a range of fire and life safety systems including: conventional and addressable fire alarm systems, emergency lighting interfaces, fire panels, detectors, sounders, and call points
  • Ensuring all work complies with current British Standards and fire safety regulations
  • Providing clear service reports and communicating recommendations to site management and clients

Requirements

  • Fire alarm qualification (e.g., FIA Units or equivalent)
  • AOV experience very desirable
  • Strong background working on fire alarm systems within building services or FM environments
  • Experience carrying out fire alarm PPMs, repairs, testing, and fault‑finding
  • Knowledge of BS 5839 and fire safety compliance
  • Must be able to provide copies of relevant trade certificates
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills
