We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established water purification business, supporting clients across the Birmingham area and wider Midlands region. This is a home-based role, typically covering a 65–100 mile radius, with the M5/M42 corridor forming the core area of operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a regional role with reduced long-distance travel, while still working on a wide range of water treatment systems. Occasional support may be required for other regions during holiday cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding on water purification equipment
- Working on systems including Reverse Osmosis (RO), De-ionisation (DI/EDI), Water Softeners, Filtration systems, pumps, tanks, and pure water ring mains
- Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive breakdown support
- Ensuring all work is completed to customer specifications and industry standards
- Completing service reports and maintaining accurate documentation
- Providing a high level of customer service on-site
Requirements
- Proven experience within water treatment / water purification
- Strong working knowledge of RO, DI/EDI, softeners, filtration, and associated equipment
- Experience with pumps, tanks, or pipework systems is advantageous
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible approach to regional travel and occasional wider support
