This electrical design engineer role is to join a specialist building services design team within a large multidisciplinary building consultancy. It’s to join a down to earth supportive friendly team of design engineers, designing a range of sustainably focused mechanical and electrical works for sectors such as education and local authority. Jobs may include taking the project lead or working as part of a larger design team. Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- The preparation of outline design schemes
- Visiting site during the construction phase to monitor progress
- Detailed calculations
- Promote the use of renewable technologies
- Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for each project
- Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
Qualifications/Attributes:
- MEng / BEng / HND / HNC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
- A minimum of 3 years electrical design experience in building services
- Experience of Revit would be advantageous but not essential
- High quality oral and written communications (reports, instructions etc)
- Driving licence and car
