Would you keen to work for a small practice out of London, where you will be given the freedom and autonomy to run your own projects (with support if needed) without the grind of commuting into town? Would you like to work for a flexible and friendly small firm where there could be future Directorship prospects in the long term?

Well established structural design consultancy are seeking a structural engineer with a minimum of 2 years design experience to join their team. If you are a more experienced Chartered Engineer this would be preferable. The Director is FIStructE and FICE qualified.

The offices are close to Rochford station, though a car driver would be preferable for attending site visits. The practice is incredibly busy with work and needs more people to be able to cope! Projects range from a few hundred pounds in value up to £10m. Workload is very varied including:

  • bespoke one-off houses
  • large new build blocks of flats
  • extensions
  • conversions
  • industrial sheds
  • schools
  • LA work
  • surveys
  • inspections
  • defect analysis

You must be able to design in all the main materials and use Autocad as well. Excellent communication skills are essential. Priority will be given to local candidates. Ideally you will be Chartered or nearing this status, but candidates with a minimum of 2 years design experience will be considered.
