Polytec are seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join our Saffron Walden based client and help strengthen its production engineering capability. This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership, focused on improving manufacturing efficiency, supporting structured new product introduction and maintaining high standards of quality and process control.

Location: Saffron Walden

Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm

Salary: Up to £45k per annum dependent on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Improving manufacturing processes, efficiency and quality
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) into production
  • Designing and implementing jigs, fixtures and tooling
  • Producing CAD models and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks)
  • Delivering structured continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting equipment reliability and resolving day-to-day production issues

Requirements:

  • Proven Production Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of quality systems
  • CAD experience (ideally SolidWorks)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
  • Practical, hands-on engineering capability
