W Talent is delighted to be working with a premium engineering manufacturer to support the appointment of a Compliance & Quality Engineer to join the team at their Skelmanthorpe facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented quality professional to join a growing business focused on engineering excellence, product quality and continuous improvement. The role will play a key part in ensuring both internally manufactured and externally supplied components meet the required engineering specifications and quality standards before progressing through production.
Working closely with Production, Purchasing and Stores, you will help drive quality assurance, compliance and process consistency, supporting the company's continued position as a premium manufacturer within its market.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for inspecting and measuring precision-engineered components, ensuring products meet engineering drawings, technical specifications and customer requirements. You will play a hands-on role in quality inspection while supporting non-conformance management, process improvement and compliance across the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct dimensional inspection and measurement of machined and purchased components against engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Operate a range of manual and automated inspection equipment, including CMMs, Faro Arms and other precision metrology tools.
- Raise and manage non-conformance issues, supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions where required.
- Produce accurate inspection reports, quality records and compliance documentation.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of SOP-driven processes to strengthen product quality and consistency.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing and Stores to maintain the smooth flow of components through the manufacturing process.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer specifications and wider industry regulations.
- Champion Health & Safety standards, maintaining a safe, compliant and organised working environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve quality and operational performance.
Key Requirements
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent).
- Previous experience within a quality inspection, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using precision inspection and measurement equipment, including CMMs or Faro Arms, would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and quality-focused approach.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word, with ERP system experience advantageous.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and maintaining high quality standards.

A competitive salary ranging between £30,000 - £40,000 is offered, dependent on experience.
