NT Highland are delighted to be supporting their new client who are a prominent name in Scotch Whisky with numerous growing brands and very exciting projects undergoing with the business being at a pivotal moment. And at the heart of making sure all of it is done properly, safely and compliantly - that's where this role sits.

This is a broad, senior compliance position covering the full HSEQ and HMRC compliance agenda across 2 distilleries and estate operations. You will work closely with senior leadership to embed a genuine culture of compliance across a fast-moving, ambitious business. This isn't a desk bound role. You'll be on site, engaging with teams, leading audits, driving the ISO 9001 implementation, managing relationships with regulatory bodies including SEPA, HMRC and COMAH, and integrating occupational health into the operational framework. You’ll inherit a strong foundation built by an exceptional outgoing Compliance Manager. The expectation is that you maintain that standard - and build on it.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 5 years in a compliance, HSEQ or related role in an industrial or operational environment
  • Drinks or food manufacturing background ideal - process or manufacturing industry with COMAH exposure strongly considered
  • Strong working knowledge of H&S, environmental management, HMRC obligations and quality systems
  • ISO 9001 implementation experience highly desirable
  • NEBOSH qualification - required for this role
  • IEMA or IRM certification advantageous
  • Tenacious, structured and organized - with the drive to genuinely embed change
