We are recruiting Electricians for a specialist engineering company in Stoke-on-Trent, focused on fitting industrial scanning systems and electrical control panels onto large commercial vehicles and trucks.

Duration: 6-12 months

Rate: £16.00 per hour PAYE

Role Overview

The role involves installing complex electrical systems and control panels onto vehicle chassis. You'll be working from engineering drawings to wire, fit, and terminate electrical components and cabling for industrial‑grade scanning and automation equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical installation of control panels on large vehicles
  • Wiring complete systems onto truck and van chassis
  • Point‑to‑point wiring, loom building, cable crimping, and terminating
  • Fitting of data and comms cabling including RJ45, Cat5/Cat6
  • General mechanical fitting: marking out, drilling, tapping, bracket fitting
  • Reading and interpreting engineering wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Using hand and power tools for installation tasks
  • Experience with vehicle conversions is beneficial

Trade Test Includes

  • Wiring an SY cable to a circuit breaker
  • Terminating it with an RJ45 connector
  • Use of crimping tools
