Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Control Systems Engineer required to join a global manufacturer of industrial materials and components at their Leeds production facility.

The successful Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting plant maintenance, diagnostics, and improvement projects, with a focus on electrical systems, control panels, and automation. This is a hands-on engineering role offering long-term development in a high-tech, process-driven manufacturing environment.

You’ll have a broad background in electrical engineering with experience in control systems, 3-phase power, VFDs, and PLC-based systems. Knowledge of high-temperature processes or heavy industry would be advantageous.

  • £38,000 – £43,000 depending on experience

Location

  • Based in Leeds

Work Schedule

  • Day shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Call-out rota (shared across the engineering team)

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve faults on manufacturing plant and equipment
  • Assist with R&D projects to improve or re-engineer production processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and site development activities
  • Perform hands-on installation, assembly, and upgrade of electrical systems
  • Support both electrical and basic mechanical maintenance tasks

Requirements

  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Controls Engineer or similar
  • Strong understanding of control panels, PLCs, motors, VFDs, 3-phase and single-phase systems
  • Apprentice trained with HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong analytical and fault-finding ability
  • Must be commutable to Leeds
