Zenith is looking to recruit an Electrical Biased Technician on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the development of controls, offering technical support to the factory to meet customer requirements. Reporting into the Engineering and Controls Manager, you will provide key support to the Lead Controls Engineers and Production Electricians where necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Providing support to the whole sales network in the UK through costing software and diagnosing faults within systems.
- Work with and support the factory to develop products.
- Assist the Sales Team by preparing controls quotations and technical submissions.
- Investigate and pursue controls development to assist in cost reduction and stay current with continued technological advances.
- Carry out any planned reactive and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Prepare and issue production packages including wiring schedules and location drawings.
- Provide training in controls application to service organisation and sales team.
- Troubleshoot control problems and issues to produce solutions.
- Working from wiring diagrams, fault find on equipment.
- Participate in meetings or direct communications with customers or field sales offices to assist in resolution of problems or complaints.
- Maintain a teamwork philosophy with other departments to facilitate problem solving and provide good customer service.
- An element of travel will be involved.
Essential Experience Required:
- Electrical Qualification such as HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
- AutoCad fundamental knowledge – desirable.
- Hands-on experience working with Electrical Controls is essential, such as Omron, Siemens or Allen Bradley.
- IT literate – confident user in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and understanding of interfacing to ancillary equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be authorised to live & work in the UK as sponsorship is not available.
Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served, electrically qualified individual to move into controls engineering whilst training under the supervision of the Lead Controls Engineer. Although you will need hands-on experience working with Electrical Controls and an electrical apprenticeship, our client is willing to invest in some level of training for the right person.
