A growing specialist systems company is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join its engineering team on an initial 3‑month temp‑to‑perm contract. This is a hands‑on field‑based role involving the installation, commissioning and maintenance of detection and monitoring systems across customer sites in London and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, travelling to sites, and occasionally staying away overnight when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission detection and monitoring systems
  • Carry out first and second fix electrical works including wiring, panel mounting and terminations
  • Perform testing, fault finding and planned preventative maintenance
  • Complete site surveys and support technical quotations
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation, commissioning records and site paperwork
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and site safety at all times

Requirements

  • Electrical installation or control panel background
  • Experience with alarm systems, wiring and electronic components
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Valid CSCS card essential
  • IPAF and PASMA certifications desirable
  • Additional electrical/site qualifications such as SSSTS advantageous
  • Any exposure to PLCs, system programming or AutoCAD would be beneficial
