We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Duties
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather relevant pricing information
- Prepare detailed proposals outlining labour, materials, equipment, and other costs
- Monitor project budgets and update estimates as project scope evolves
- Assist in negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms
- Conduct market research to stay informed of current pricing trends and material costs
- Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to optimise expenditure
- Prepare reports and documentation for management review and decision-making
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction is a must
- On-site experience is but not essential
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and techniques
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Proficient in relevant software tools such as MS Excel and estimating programmes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts effectively
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels
