Expleo is recruiting an Electrical Engineering PVT Engineer to support a major automotive OEM at an assembly facility in Liverpool. This is a contract position within the Electrical Engineering function (Digital Platform) as part of the Plant Vehicle Team (PVT). The team operates at the interface between product development engineering and manufacturing, supporting live vehicle programmes in a fast‑paced production environment.
As a PVT Engineer, you will focus on electrical system quality issues affecting the assembly plant and customer vehicles, playing a key role in safeguarding product quality and supporting production continuity.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the electrical engineering link between engineering design teams and manufacturing operations.
- Investigate and resolve electrical quality issues impacting vehicle assembly and field performance.
- Support electrical systems including control modules (ECUs), embedded software, switches and human‑machine interfaces, electrical wiring harnesses.
- Monitor and interpret quality and warranty metrics to identify emerging issues.
- Apply structured problem‑solving methodologies to identify root cause.
- Develop and deploy containment actions to protect production.
- Support design changes and improvement actions for permanent resolution.
- Contribute to delivery of quality targets for assigned vehicle lines.
- Support continuous improvement toward world‑class manufacturing performance.
- Use of problem‑solving tools and processes.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of electrical systems (including control module software and electrical wiring harnesses).
- Capability to use diagnostic tools to interrogate vehicle electrical systems via the CAN network.
- Previous experience of plant vehicle quality operations in production including delivery of problem resolutions in manufacturing.
- Previous experience of engineering delivery of electrical systems (including control module software and/or electrical wiring harnesses).
- Microsoft tools (e.g. PowerPoint).
