Help deliver safe, sustainable and efficient building services solutions. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Estates – Building Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled building services professional to provide technical expertise, design support, compliance advice and project leadership across a diverse property portfolio. You will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, cost-effective and low‑carbon electrical solutions, supporting the improvement and modernisation of building services systems.
About the role
- Provide electrical engineering advice, design support and technical guidance across the managed estate.
- Deliver electrical designs, feasibility studies, specifications, surveys and technical reports.
- Support projects from concept and design stages through to completion.
- Manage and oversee contractors, consultants and external partners.
- Carry out site inspections, quality checks and contract administration duties where required.
- Ensure electrical systems meet statutory requirements, industry standards and best practice.
- Support energy efficiency and decarbonisation initiatives, including sustainable electrical solutions.
- Provide technical and commercial oversight, ensuring value for money and effective cost control.
- Build positive working relationships with internal teams, stakeholders and service partners.
About you
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years’ UK experience in electrical engineering within the building services sector.
- Experience delivering electrical projects from design through to completion.
- Experience managing contractors and construction contracts.
- Strong knowledge of electrical legislation, standards and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015, Building Safety Act 2022 and project delivery processes.
- Experience managing budgets, risks and technical deliverables.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable experience
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
- Experience delivering energy efficiency, retrofit or decarbonisation projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical building services systems.
- Experience working within a public sector or complex estate environment.
- Experience with sustainable electrical solutions such as LED lighting, renewable energy integration, energy storage and smart technologies.
