Responsibilities
- Carry out gas servicing, repairs and installations efficiently and effectively, in line with all relevant legislation, policies and Gas Safe requirements.
- Diagnose and repair faults, aiming for first-time fixes while maintaining quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, keeping all parties informed of progress and actions taken.
- Escalate complex issues to senior staff where appropriate.
- Ensure works are completed in a cost-effective manner, including identifying and pre-ordering materials and keeping customers informed of delivery timescales.
- Maintain current knowledge of gas-related legislation, regulations and policy changes.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues and other trades when required.
- Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
- Maintain the company vehicle, carry out regular safety checks and report defects promptly.
- Support the development of apprentices, trainees and improving engineers.
- Attend meetings, training and development activities to support ongoing professional growth.
- Use electronic systems to update work records and issue electronic Landlord Gas Safety Certificates.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties in line with the role.
Required Qualifications
- Current ACS accreditation (minimum CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, CKR1).
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Domestic Heating.
- Strong technical knowledge of gas systems, heating, control systems and wet hot water systems.
- Good understanding of relevant Building Regulations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively under pressure.
- Competent IT skills and experience using electronic job and certification systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Physically able to undertake demanding manual work.
- Proof of no historic or pending prohibition notices with HSE or Gas Safe.
