We’re supporting a leading civil engineering contractor in the North East who is looking to appoint a Senior Engineer to support the delivery of major civils and infrastructure projects.
This role suits an experienced Engineer who is confident managing site engineering activities, leading junior engineers, and ensuring technical accuracy across all project stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Engineering Leadership: Oversee day‑to‑day engineering operations, ensuring works are set out accurately and delivered to specification.
- Technical Assurance: Review drawings, specifications, and design information, resolving technical queries with designers and project teams.
- Quality Control: Ensure all works meet quality standards, completing ITPs, check sheets, and relevant documentation.
- Team Support: Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their development and ensuring consistent engineering practice.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain smooth project delivery.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Promote safe working practices and ensure engineering activities comply with CDM and H&S requirements.
- What You’ll Bring
- Strong background in civil engineering with experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer.
- Proven experience across groundworks, drainage, utilities, structures, highways, or public realm.
- Excellent understanding of setting‑out, surveying equipment, and engineering documentation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across site teams.
- CSCS, First Aid; additional engineering or management qualifications advantageous.
