We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team across the United Kingdom, supporting the commercial management of major infrastructure projects across our renewable energy, highways, and marine portfolio. The successful candidate will assist in the commercial delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the commercial management of civil engineering projects
- Support contract administration, including variations, compensation events, and final accounts
- Prepare cost reports and cash flow forecasts
- Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor management
- Monitor project costs and identify value engineering opportunities
- Support the preparation and assessment of subcontractor applications and payments
- Provide commercial support to project delivery teams
- Assist in preparing and analysing measurements in accordance with standard methods such as CESMM4 and NRM2
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders as required
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
- Previous experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, renewable energy, highways, or marine projects
- Working knowledge of NEC3/4 contract forms (FIDIC knowledge advantageous)
- Ability to carry out measurements in accordance with standard methods such as CESMM4 and NRM2
- Good understanding of cost control and commercial reporting processes
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting tools
- Valid UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Scotland, England, and Wales where necessary
Desirable Experience
- Progress toward professional accreditation such as MRICS, MInstCES, or similar
- Understanding of heavy civils construction techniques
- Knowledge of the Scottish civil engineering sector
- Experience assisting with claims, variations, and delay analysis
