Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market‑leading Energy company to recruit for an Electrical Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Exeter, Devon.
Salary: £49,129 + up to 12% bonus + overtime + private medical + pension + benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Fault finding and maintaining electrical assets including motors, transformers, switchgear, drives and HV/LV plant, working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices.
- Assisting in plant developments and projects.
- Supervising and setting on site contractors to work.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site using Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assisting in outage planning, scheduling and coordination.
- Ensuring the availability of plant spares.
Professional qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- 17th / 18th Edition wiring regulation qualification (desired).
- Health and safety qualification such as IOSH (highly advantageous).
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge:
- Hands‑on maintenance experience with PLC systems, motors, variable speed drives, switchgear, etc.
- Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill, etc.
- Prior experience working with high voltage equipment (highly advantageous).
- Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers (considered).
