The Design Manager will take ownership of the design and technical delivery process on façade remediation and recladding schemes ranging from £5m to £15m, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, including BSR. The role will report to the Contracts Manager and work closely with internal teams, consultants, and the supply chain.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
- Coordinating between consultants, façade specialists, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensuring design compliance with BSR regulations, fire safety guidance, and project specifications
- Reviewing drawings, technical submissions, and identifying coordination issues
- Managing design deliverables in line with project programme and delivery milestones
- Supporting procurement by coordinating technical input and subcontractor packages
- Leading design workshops and attending client and consultant meetings
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Design Manager (or Senior Design Coordinator stepping up)
- Strong understanding of façade systems, fire performance, and regulatory compliance
- Experience working on remediation or recladding projects is highly desirable
