An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in Facilities Management and Operational Engineering to support a diverse portfolio of commercial properties across London.
This is a varied consultancy role combining:
- Building services engineering
- Client advisory
- Project management
- Site inspections
- Maintenance strategy
- Design & specification work
The position offers a balance of office, hybrid, and site-based work with opportunities to influence projects from concept through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical & electrical maintenance support
- Condition surveys and technical audits
- Design, specification & project delivery
- FM maintenance contract tendering
- Plant room inspections and compliance reviews
- Contractor and specialist coordination
- Budgeting advice and troubleshooting support
- Client relationship management
- Supporting junior engineers and team development
Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years’ experience in Building Services Engineering
- Strong mechanical design background
- Experience within FM/operational engineering environments
- Excellent technical problem‑solving ability
- Confident client‑facing communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities and deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Desirable
- HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- Experience managing hard FM maintenance contracts
