As a Junior Estimator, you will support the pre‑construction team in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost plans. You will gain hands‑on experience across all stages of the estimating process, with clear progression into a more senior role. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Supporting the subcontractor and supplier enquiry process
- Helping to build up rates, cost plans and pricing documents
- Assisting in identifying risks and value engineering opportunities
- Supporting the preparation of tender reports and submissions
- Working closely with estimators, engineers and commercial teams
What They’re Looking For:
- 1–3 years’ experience in estimating or engineering role within construction or civil engineering
- A strong interest in civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work within a team and manage deadlines
- Proficiency in Excel (estimating software experience is a bonus)
Desirable:
- Degree or working towards a degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Previous exposure to infrastructure or civil engineering projects
