Work as a Transport Planner for our client, a leading producer of fresh chicken, pork, lamb, and ready meals.
Responsibilities
- Plan, support and coordinate daily transport movements to meet agriculture plan, logistics service, and cost performance targets.
- Prepare transport requirements on a day‑1/day‑2 basis in a timely manner.
- Report directly to the Transport Manager and contribute to making the logistics planning a “Best in Class” operation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of transport experience in a fast‑paced multi‑site own account or 3PL logistics operation.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; knowledge of geographical locations of customer depots.
- Experience monitoring, tracking and driving logistical performance through agreed KPIs.
- Customer‑facing experience; able to react quickly and calmly in delivering practical solutions to operational issues.
- Experienced in IT applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent personal time‑management, initiative, communication and negotiation skills.
Hours & Schedule
- Full‑time, 42 hours per week.
- Rotating 4 on 4 off shift pattern (after a 1–2 week training period).
- Shift options: 7 am – 5 pm and 5 pm – 3 am.
- Must be able to work both day and night shifts.
Compensation & Benefits
- Rate: £16.28 per hour.
