Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer – Hull (Facilities Management – Government)
CBW Staffing Solutions has a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join a leading facilities management organisation on a permanent basis. You’ll carry out servicing, fault-finding, repairs and minor installations on a range of commercial heating systems across commercial sites.
You will work both independently and occasionally as part of a small team, covering Hull, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Grimsby and Peterborough.
Package
- Competitive salary up to £52,000 per annum (depending on experience)

- Core hours are Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
- Participation in an ‘out of hours’ on‑call rota (to be confirmed)

Responsibilities
- Servicing and maintenance of a variety of commercial gas appliances and systems, including boilers, heaters, and pipework
- Perform routine inspections and safety checks to ensure gas systems operate efficiently and comply with industry standards
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in gas appliances, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum safety
- Conduct gas leak tests and carbon monoxide checks to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and contractors to coordinate complex repairs and system upgrades
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to promote a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer or similar role within the facilities management industry
- Gas Safe Register certification and relevant qualifications (e.g. ACS, COCN1, CODNCO1)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong knowledge of commercial gas appliances, systems, and regulations
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and customer‑service skills
