Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Company: Coleford

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off Days & Nights

Salary: £53,000 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Identifying failure modes of plant equipment and returning the equipment to operation safely and in a reasonable timescale.
  • Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns.
  • Liaise with engineering day teams to identify and resolve long‑term engineering issues.
  • Follow up all shift reports, SAP and other inspection reports detailing corrective actions.
  • Locate spare parts using the maintenance management system. Collect and return spares to stores.
  • Identifying failure modes of electrical equipment and making recommendations to prevent further failures.
  • Obtain maintenance schedules from the maintenance management system (SAP) and feed back work carried out. Record work arising using notifications.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance routines, including motor brush replacement and set up.
  • Investigate and rectify all electrical faults.

Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles with comprehensive understanding of fitting, turning and general fabrication, rigging and lifting of heavy loads.
  • Formal technical qualification in Electrical Engineering and familiarity with the 17th Edition IEE Regulations.
  • General knowledge of working with motor control, instrumentation, PLCs and modern drives systems in a continuous process industry.
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its application in a continuous process environment.
  • Strong drive, motivation and commitment: self‑starting, self‑motivated, and consistently energetic and enthusiastic in pursuit of objectives and business goals.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to assimilate, organise and analyse information for logical problem solving.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and orally.
  • Computer literate with practical experience of CMMS systems.
  • Team worker with a flexible approach to work.
