Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Company: Coleford
Working Hours: 4 on 4 off Days & Nights
Salary: £53,000 per annum
Responsibilities
- Identifying failure modes of plant equipment and returning the equipment to operation safely and in a reasonable timescale.
- Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns.
- Liaise with engineering day teams to identify and resolve long‑term engineering issues.
- Follow up all shift reports, SAP and other inspection reports detailing corrective actions.
- Locate spare parts using the maintenance management system. Collect and return spares to stores.
- Identifying failure modes of electrical equipment and making recommendations to prevent further failures.
- Obtain maintenance schedules from the maintenance management system (SAP) and feed back work carried out. Record work arising using notifications.
- Carry out preventive maintenance routines, including motor brush replacement and set up.
- Investigate and rectify all electrical faults.
Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles with comprehensive understanding of fitting, turning and general fabrication, rigging and lifting of heavy loads.
- Formal technical qualification in Electrical Engineering and familiarity with the 17th Edition IEE Regulations.
- General knowledge of working with motor control, instrumentation, PLCs and modern drives systems in a continuous process industry.
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its application in a continuous process environment.
- Strong drive, motivation and commitment: self‑starting, self‑motivated, and consistently energetic and enthusiastic in pursuit of objectives and business goals.
- Good analytical skills and ability to assimilate, organise and analyse information for logical problem solving.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and orally.
- Computer literate with practical experience of CMMS systems.
- Team worker with a flexible approach to work.
