Connect Grp are looking for a Welder for a project in Colchester starting Monday 11th May.
Working hours: 07.30am - 16.30pm (9 hours)
Day Rate: £25 per hour
Duration: 6 Months+
The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, preparation, and TIG and MIG welding of carbon steel pipework ranging from 2"-10" diameter. This role involves working from technical drawings, fabricating pipe spools, and carrying out high-quality welds to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities- TIG / MIG welding of carbon steel pipes (2"-10") to a high standard.
- Fabricating pipework, fittings, and assemblies from drawings or verbal instruction.
- Preparing and aligning pipework for welding and fit-up.
- Conducting quality checks to ensure weld integrity and compliance.
- Working safely and efficiently within workshop and site environments.
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean and safe work area.
- Proven experience as a TIG and MIG Welder/Fabricator (pipework essential).
- Strong background in carbon steel welding and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and isometrics.
- Competent in weld preparation, fit-up, and finishing.
- CSCS or CCNSG card.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Successful candidates will need the following when arriving to site:
- Valid CSCS/JIB Card
- Valid ID
- Standard PPE
