Client is a Sheffield-based structural, civil and geo‑environmental consultancy known for delivering high‑quality innovative solutions across a range of civil engineering projects. The firm is rapidly expanding and working on some prestigious projects. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to work on a variety of challenging projects.
Responsibilities
- Residential and commercial design experience.
- Design and prepare detailed drawings in 2D and 3D.
- Use Civil3D, AutoCAD, PDS, Microdrainage/Flow to develop fully compliant drainage systems including SuDS.
- Design highways including vertical and horizontal alignments.
- Design external works including levels and construction/pavement build‑ups.
- Provide cut/fill analysis.
- Prepare headwall details, retaining wall types, SuDS features, adoptable details, etc.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities to resolve section approvals (S104, S38, S278, S185).
- Write reports for planning submission such as FRAs and Drainage Strategies.
- Attend technical meetings as required.
- Communicate and coordinate with internal team and external clients.
- Ensure project work is carried out within agreed deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineer) or HNC/HND (Technician).
- Proficiency in design software such as Civil3D, AutoCAD, Flow/Microdrainage.
- Experience in drainage design using Micro Drainage or Causeway Flow.
- Experience liaising with statutory authorities to resolve section approvals.
- Experience writing reporting for planning submissions (ideal but not essential).
