Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce mechanical building services designs including ventilation, heating, cooling, DHW, and public health.
- Carry out detailed calculations, heat loss/gain assessments, and site surveys.
- Prepare specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Attend design meetings and communicate key issues to clients and directors.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure projects meet technical, contractual, and programme requirements.
- Support junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Mechanical engineering/design experience in building services (ideally in consultancy or contracting).
- Strong knowledge of UK building services standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in IES, HEVACOMP, Open Buildings, TAS, or other relevant design tools.
- Experience delivering mechanical design on projects £1M–£5M+.
- ONC/HNC in Mechanical Building Services + CIBSE membership (preferred).
- Ability to obtain SC clearance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
