Location: Chichester

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce mechanical building services designs including ventilation, heating, cooling, DHW, and public health.
  • Carry out detailed calculations, heat loss/gain assessments, and site surveys.
  • Prepare specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Attend design meetings and communicate key issues to clients and directors.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Ensure projects meet technical, contractual, and programme requirements.
  • Support junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Mechanical engineering/design experience in building services (ideally in consultancy or contracting).
  • Strong knowledge of UK building services standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in IES, HEVACOMP, Open Buildings, TAS, or other relevant design tools.
  • Experience delivering mechanical design on projects £1M–£5M+.
  • ONC/HNC in Mechanical Building Services + CIBSE membership (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
