Position: Process Operator (Chemical) – £37,900 – 3x Shift (Earlies/Lates/Nights) – Widnes

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of chemical plant and equipment
  • Follow detailed process instructions and complete process records
  • Control and troubleshoot multiple production processes
  • Include simple in-process analytical testing
  • Regular manual handling of chemicals
  • Periodic decontamination of equipment for statutory inspections
  • Undertake First Aid training as required
  • Participate in the site Emergency Response team
  • Engage in process and EHS improvements

Person Specification / Qualifications:

  • NVQ2 or equivalent
  • Previous Loader/Operator experience (shift work preferred)
  • COMAH experience advantageous
  • Basic numeracy and literacy essential
  • Basic computer skills advantageous
  • Counterbalance FLT licence advantageous
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge (5S, Kaizen & 7 wastes) advantageous
  • Experience in the chemical industry is not vital but a manufacturing background would be advantageous
