Production Engineer - Electronics

The Production Engineer - Electronics will join a global leader to support their manufacturing operations.

Duties

  • Perform component‑level fault‑finding to diagnose production and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Investigate, document, and report faults on products while driving improvements to eliminate reoccurring issues.
  • Assist with the creation of balanced production lines, with flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Write and update clear, concise work instructions (SOPs) for operations.
  • Create and update configuration control documents and manufacturing standard times.
  • Write, review, and complete process FMEA, control plans, and risk assessments.
  • Analyse designs to ensure they meet DFM/DFA criteria and manage the NPI process.
  • Drive change management processes and product improvements.
  • Support sales with customer and project bid data preparation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience & Skills Required

  • An Electronics or manufacturing/engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in electronics test and manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing philosophies (DFM/DFA).
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly, manufacturing, and test processes.
  • Ability to produce clear reports and deliver effective presentations.
  • Must be self‑motivated with strong communication and influencing skills and creative problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and fault‑finding expertise, particularly in electronics down to component level.
  • Knowledge of RF test techniques, high voltage electronics, and encapsulation would be beneficial.
  • Experience in problem‑solving methodologies (8D, A3, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Proficiency with ERP/SAP systems and understanding of SPC data would be preferable.
  • Practical experience in applying CI, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and quality tools ideal.
