An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a well-established industrial manufacturing and recycling operation based in Cardiff. This role is ideal for a proactive maintenance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about ensuring plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across site equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
  • Work with PLC-controlled systems, AC/DC drives, and process control equipment.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Complete maintenance records and ensure compliance with site procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with operational and maintenance teams to support production targets.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.

About You

  • Completed Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, heavy industry, recycling, steel, aggregates, or similar industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, electrical fault finding, motors, drives, and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • High Voltage (HV) experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided.
