Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum plus 10% bonus and Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week (Flexible hours to suit work life balance)

Location: Hybrid from one of Veolia's regional offices (Cannock, Horsham, Warrington, London or Edinburgh)

What you'll be doing:

  • Translate and develop conceptual designs into CAD drawings, including GA's, planning drawings, 3D arrangements, layout drawings, setting out drawings, SLD's, PFD and P&ID for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure using AutoCAD/Revit and other relevant CAD software.
  • Produce BOM listings to enable specifications, calculations and component selection to be undertaken by others.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that conceptual design and tender preparation documents are provided to meet the project timescales and necessary quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to create, update & manage BIM models in accordance with project requirements & industry standards.
  • Utilise a Common Data Environment (CDE) to ensure accurate data management, version control & efficient project collaboration.
  • Work in the engineering team to provide both consultative design support and, in some instances, supporting the installation and construction phase of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Produce project-specific installation specifications to obtain competitive installation quotations from local M&E contractors, including the production of appropriate 2D and/or 3D drawings (layouts, general arrangements, planning and piping drawings) for water treatment assets and associated pipework systems.
  • Create 3D renders for use in bid documentation.
  • Generate, import & work with LiDAR scans in CAD using Trimble X9 Scanner.
  • Liaise with mechanical & electrical design engineers in identifying the project requirements and in the development of the detailed design for water and wastewater schemes.
  • Support and assist in the development stage of a project, ensuring that conceptual design and tender preparation documents are provided in accordance with required timescales and quality standards.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous CAD experience 2D & 3D.
  • Experience with creating P&ID & layout drawings, ideally within the UK water/wastewater sector.
  • Experience working in the UK Water Industry with knowledge of modelling water/wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and associated mechanical, electrical, and piping systems (MEP).
  • Experience in producing designs for both above-ground (non-infrastructure) and below-ground (infrastructure) water assets, such as treatment works, pumping stations, and pipeline networks.
  • Experience using LiDAR data within CAD models.
  • Relevant engineering qualification, i.e. degree, HNC/HND or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of CDM (Construction (Design and Management) Regulations) and applying the principles of designing for safety.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD/Revit & other relevant CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, Civil 3D).
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and the integration of geospatial data with CAD models is desirable.
  • Knowledge of BIM processes & standards (ISO 19650).
  • Experience with Common Data Environments (e.g., Viewpoint, BIM360/ACC or Projectwise).
  • Understanding of the asset data lifecycle and experience in preparing models and drawings for digital handover that meet client asset information requirements (AIR).
  • Experience using LiDAR equipment.
  • Familiarity with UK water company specifications and standards (e.g., WIMES, Sewers for Adoption) would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills & ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects & prioritise workload.
  • Able to adapt to new technologies & software as required.
