If you’re the kind of engineer who enjoys getting hands‑on, solving tricky faults, and bringing equipment back to life, this one’s worth a look. We’re working with a well‑established, globally recognised brand known for producing high‑quality sound systems. They’re now looking for an Electronic Service Technician/Engineer to join their team just outside Cambridge.
This is a practical, workshop‑based role focused on diagnosing, repairing, and testing equipment down to component level. You’ll be working across both customer returns and production units, making sure everything leaving the department meets a high standard. As such, you will need to have a background in electronics. Experience with audio equipment is a big plus, but not essential if you’ve worked on comparable electronic products.
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Diagnosing and repairing customer‑returned units efficiently
- Testing, repairing, and reworking production units to finished goods standard
- Fault‑finding at component level across electronic assemblies
- Repairing sub‑assemblies and returning viable components to stock
- Logging faults and repair data accurately in internal systems
- Working closely with teams across customer support, engineering, and purchasing
- Supporting technical queries and contributing to product improvements where needed
What we’re looking for:
- Around 2+ years’ experience in a service/repair role (ideally within audio or similar electronics)
- Strong fault‑finding skills down to component level
- Confident soldering and electronic/mechanical assembly experience
- A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2+ in Electronic Servicing or similar)
- Comfortable using systems and tools to log and track work
