Electrical Maintenance Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering team in Cambridgeshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the operation and routine maintenance of all electrical distribution systems, including CHP feeds, emergency standby supplies and systems operating under statutory regulations.
- Undertake installation works, equipment upgrades and building modifications.
- Monitor and respond to alarms via the Building Management System (BMS).
- Comply with statutory requirements, including Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and Installation Testing.
- Ensure the effective operation of normal, emergency and back‑up electrical supply systems, as well as the Fire Alarm system.
- Assist in preparing O&M budgets and cost estimates for minor works.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Liaise with specialist contractors servicing plant under your responsibility.
Requirements
- BTEC or City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant electrical discipline.
- IEE 18th Edition qualification.
- Strong knowledge of electrical supply systems and M&E engineering services.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults.
- Experience with local power and lighting systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Competent in the use of hand/power tools and machinery.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
