Temporary Facilities Manager

Location: West Sussex

Contract: 3-Month Temporary Assignment

Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Start Date: Immediate

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager for an immediate-start, 3-month temporary assignment based in West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a facilities professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in managing both hard and soft FM services within a commercial setting. You will take full ownership of the workplace, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and an outstanding experience for all building occupants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of a busy commercial site, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Oversee all hard FM services including HVAC, electrical systems, fire safety systems, water management, generators, UPS systems, and building fabric maintenance.
  • Ensure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works are completed in line with statutory requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage contractors and service providers, conducting performance reviews and compliance checks.
  • Oversee soft FM services including cleaning, waste management, housekeeping, and site inspections.
  • Manage permits to work for high-risk activities including hot works, confined spaces, and working at height.
  • Monitor health and safety compliance, risk management, and business continuity planning.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for site stakeholders, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Manage budgets, procurement activities, and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Produce reports and provide updates to senior stakeholders on facilities performance and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven Facilities Management experience within a commercial building environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems including HVAC, electrical, fire, water, and building management systems.
  • Excellent understanding of UK compliance regulations including EICR, LOLER, F-Gas, Legionella, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Experience managing contractors, service providers, and facilities budgets.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Facilities Management qualifications or professional certifications are advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
