Building Control Inspector must be registered to at least Class 2A. Salary up to £70,000 plus benefits package. A new Building Inspector role with the flexibility to work from home with existing clients based around Southend-on-Sea or Chelmsford.
The Building Inspector will be responsible for plan checking and site inspections in the local area. This is ideally suited to a surveyor who values training and development while getting a good work/life balance.
About the RoleYou will work in a team of Registered Building Inspectors who cover residential and small commercial projects around North London covering Uxbridge and Watford; you will only travel within 45 minutes of home. This business understands one of the biggest problems for surveyors is not factoring the time it takes you to get to client sites. Ideally, you'll be local to one of these areas or happy to cover sites around there.
You will be expected to complete 15-20 inspections a week and a maximum of 5 plan checks. There isn’t a KPI culture and they value getting along as a team with a manager who doesn’t feel like a "boss". It’s an ideal role to increase your class if you wish but this is at your request and on your terms - you’ll get lots of support too. This is a new role and the area has been well looked after meaning there isn’t a case load of legacy projects. Nor are there business development targets and stats you are rallied with.
