Senior Procurement Manager – Project Procurement

Location: Bristol

As a Senior Procurement Manager for the Project Procurement team (P-PROC) you will partner suppliers and enable MBDA to provide world‑leading defence capabilities for our Home Nations and their Allies. You will lead a team of procurement specialists, ensuring compliance with functional requirements, liaising with project representatives and supporting the delivery of a portfolio of in‑service support projects.

Salary: Circa £50,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.

Dynamic hybrid working: 1‑2 days per week on‑site; travel between sites as required.

Security Clearance: British or dual UK with British citizenship. All successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance.

Key Responsibilities

Key to this role is the ability to manage a team of procurement specialists, ensure compliance to functional requirements and liaise with project representatives. You will line‑manage and lead others to deliver procurement support across various projects, including negotiating supplier contracts, crafting key contractual terms, and managing sub‑contracts throughout the life cycle of missile systems. You will provide commercial guidance to internal customers, manage risk and opportunity, and ensure on‑time, on‑cost, on‑quality delivery of high‑value, sophisticated sub‑systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High integrity standards for due‑diligence, authorisation & release process controls.
  • Key skills in negotiation and authoring, defining, and reviewing contracts and terms and conditions.
  • Experience supporting new business tendering and executing procurement competitive tendering.
  • Ability to resolve opposing views and negotiate a mutually agreeable position.
  • Keen to provide high standards of service, support and co‑operation to senior internal and external customers.
  • Capability to continually improve opportunities, analyse situations, present possibilities and balance risk.
  • Appetite for procedural rigour and satisfaction from tracking the details.
  • Willingness to travel to suppliers in the UK, Europe and potentially internationally.
